Unbound from Shame
A 6-Session Closed Group Therapy Experience
People don’t walk around saying, “I struggle with shame.”
Instead it shows up as:
Overthinking what to say before you speak
Feeling like you’re “too much” or “not enough” in relationships
Being overly aware of how you are being perceived
Adjusting yourself to fit what you think others will accept
Struggling to fully be yourself around others
Appearing confident on the outside, but second-guessing yourself internally
Avoiding certain situations, conversations, or people altogether
Feeling a quiet sense that something about you is “off” or not quite acceptable
Over time, this becomes exhausting.
You start organising your life around not being seen the “wrong” way.
This group therapy is designed to change that. Repeat as many cycles of the Unbound from Shame group therapy as you need.
How this works
This is a closed therapy group focused on helping you break out of shame-driven patterns in real time.
Most people try to think their way out of shame.
But in real life, when the moment comes
your body reacts, your mind blanks, and you fall back into old patterns.
This group is designed to work at that exact moment.
We combine:
Behavioural experiments (shame-attacking work)
Nervous system awareness and regulation (noticing the shame that lives in your nervous system)
Attachment and developmental understanding/trauma responses
Real-time group interaction as a relational laboratory
You will practise showing up differently while it’s actually happening, stretching beyond your usual limits.
As a result, your true-self is encouraged to surface and take the lead. Felt sense of safety increases too. So does your sense of self, worth, confidence etc.
This is both insight-based and experiential work.
What We Will Be Doing
This is an active, participation-based group.
You can expect:
Structured exercises that challenge your usual ways of holding back
Gradual, guided “shame-attacking” tasks (nothing thrown at you randomly)
Practising speaking, expressing, and taking up space under mild discomfort
Real conversations where you say what you usually hold in
Direct facilitation to help you stay present instead of retreating
